Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College is one of the modern educational institutions recognized by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Dental Council of Bangladesh (BMDC). The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approved the college in 1989. More than 500 students are currently enrolled in the MBBS program at Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College.

- The duration of the MBBS course at Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College is 5 years and students will have to complete an internship of 18 months which is mandatory for the students. At this university, the medicine courses are taught in the English language.
- The curriculum is taught through advanced course structure, lecture, tutorial, practicals, small group discussions, and community training provided by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental council. The language of teaching that is most commonly used to study medicine in English. Each academic year is divided into two equal 6 month semesters.
- Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College offers integrated courses in which students can learn dental, physiotherapy, Ayurveda, homeopathy specialties.

The capital of Bangladesh i.e. Dhaka city is located on the river called Buriganga in the south-central part of the country. It is one of the most metropolitan cities in South Asia. Today, the city has become a center of flourishing sea trade, attracting English, French, Armenian, Portuguese and Dutch traders. Dhaka is one of the commercials, financial and entertainment capital of Bangladesh. The city has a tropical climate. The average annual temperature of the city is 26°c & it varies from 19°C in January and 29°C in May.
GB inherited a library from GK is on the fourth floor covering 4,224 square feet. It is two hundred seated and fully air-conditioned. At present, it has about 20,000 books. New titles are included every year to enrich the library. The qualified and experienced faculty at college along with the carefully designed and updated curriculum ensures that the students receive the best education and skills which can help them emerge as qualified professionals. In order to provide students with a quality academic environment, the college has developed all the necessary infrastructural facilities. The key among them is a separate Hostel for Boys & Girls, Lecture halls, Library, Laboratory, Sports and Games, Canteen, Transportation.

Hostel Fees
The hostel lodging at the college has been modernized. Boys and girls are assigned to separate hostels. Students are provided with well-equipped hostel rooms that include an attached kitchen. There is a separate dining hall on the hostel grounds. A variety of continental foods are available here. Aside from that, a cafeteria, TV rooms, and reading halls are available for a student's convenience.
