Government Medical College, Ernakulam (previously known as a Cochin Medical College) is one of the medical colleges in the state of Kerala situated at Kalamassery, Kochi. It was a government-owned institution established by the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education under the Department of Co-operation, Govt. of Kerala, established in the year 1999. The college has an intake capacity of 110 students (100 students till 2019) for the MBBS course each year. It was taken over by the Government of Kerala as a pure government institution on 11 December 2013

The institution includes the College of Nursing, Biomedical engineering courses and Operation Theatre courses functioning on the college campus. The campus has a Well functioning cafeteria Gymnasium, Library, Football stadium, Basketball court, Volleyball Court and Indoor badminton courts.

Hostel Fees
Hostel accommodation is available for all the students. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, with spacious rooms three, double and single bed. Basic furniture is provided in the rooms. They also have common rooms for recreation facilities, reading rooms and TV room. Round-the-clock security is provided to all the hostels. Each hostel has a mess hall with a seating capacity of more than 150 people and the mess is run by students themselves under a common dividing system. Students will be under the disciplinary control of the assistant wardens and the wardens.
