- 1939 – Started as Stalinabad Medical Institute.
- 1945 – Launched programs related therapy, surgery, obstetrics, and gynecology.
- 1950s – Retitled as Avicenna Tajik State Medical Institute.

- 1992 – Granted university status and retitled as Avicenna Tajik State Medical University.
