1990 – Batumi State University was established by the Georgian government.

1990 – Launched Bachelor & Master programs for Law, Economics, and Medicine faculties.

2006 – Merger with 6 educational institutions, including the Institute of Art, Conservatory, Agrarian Biotechnologies, and Membrane
Technologies.

2006 – Received accreditation status from National Accreditation Center.

2009 – Merger of Batumi Botanical Garden with the Batumi State University.

2010 – Niko Berdzenishvili Research Institute and Institute of Phytopathology joined BSU.

2011 – Scientific Research Center was set up along with three main research directions.

2011 – Received authorization from National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement.

2018 – Re-authorization granted; BSU runs vocational and integrated programs.
