About Us

- 1947 – The Kaliningrad State Pedagogical Institute was established in Kaliningrad to provide higher education and teacher training in
  the region after World War II.
- 1966 – The institute expanded its academic profile and was reorganized as Kaliningrad State University, offering a wider range of
  scientific and humanities programs.
- 1970s–1990s – The university strengthened its academic departments, developed research activities, and established collaborations
  with institutions across Russia and Europe.
- 2005 – The university was officially renamed Immanuel Kant State University of Russia, honoring the renowned philosopher Immanuel
  Kant, who was historically associated with the region.
- 2010 – By decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, the institution received federal university status and became Immanuel
  Kant Baltic Federal University, aimed at strengthening education and research in the Baltic region.
- 2010s – The university established modern research centers, international academic partnerships, and advanced programs in medicine,
  science, and technology.
