Welcome to the website of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh. M. Berbekov, which is ranked among the
top 100 universities among more than 700 in Russia.

Over the course of 93 years, our university has evolved from a pedagogical institute to a multidisciplinary classical university,
where strong scientific and pedagogical schools, renowned both in our country and abroad, have been established.

KBSU is a large university complex that unites multidisciplinary, multi-level institutions offering higher, secondary, postgraduate,
and continuing professional education programs. It enrolls over 20,000 students, with over 8,000 students
enrolled in continuing education.

The consistently high level of training of our university's graduates is ensured primarily by the effective work of our faculty and
researchers, who are proactive in training new personnel, implementing new educational technologies, and developing
fundamental and applied sciences, integrating KBSU into the international educational and scientific community.
The university makes a significant contribution to developing the human resources potential of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic,
other regions of our country, and countries near and far.

About Us

- 1957 – Kabardino-Balkarian State University was founded in Nalchik to provide higher education and support regional
  scientific development.
- 1960s – The university began expanding its academic programs and introduced medical education departments to train
  healthcare professionals for the North Caucasus region.
- 1970s–1980s – Medical training and clinical education were strengthened through cooperation with regional hospitals and
  research institutions.
- 1990s – The university reorganized its structure and formally developed a Medical Faculty, increasing the number of
  medical programs and research activities.
- 2000s – Modernization of laboratories, teaching facilities, and clinical training centers took place to improve the
  quality of medical education.
- 2010s – The Medical Institute of Kabardino-Balkarian State University expanded international cooperation and began
  attracting students from multiple countries.
- 2020s – Present – The university continues to grow as an important educational and research center in southern Russia,
  training doctors, researchers, and healthcare specialists for national and international healthcare systems.
