About Us

1920 – The institute was founded to provide professional medical education and improve healthcare services in the Kuban region.

1920s – The institute began with a Faculty of Medicine, focusing on training doctors and medical specialists for hospitals and public
health institutions in southern Russia.

1930s–1940s – The institute expanded its educational and clinical infrastructure. During the period of the World War II, the institute
played a crucial role in training medical personnel and supporting military hospitals.

1950s–1960s – New departments and laboratories were established, and scientific research activities increased.
The institute developed strong clinical partnerships with hospitals in Krasnodar to enhance practical medical training.

1970s–1980s – The institution strengthened its reputation as one of the leading medical institutes in southern Russia. Additional faculties
and research programs were introduced, expanding medical education and specialization opportunities.

1994 – The institution was granted university status and officially renamed Kuban State Medical University, reflecting its expanded
academic structure and research capabilities.

2000s – The university modernized its curriculum, introduced advanced medical technologies in education, and expanded cooperation
with international universities and medical organizations.

2010s – Kuban State Medical University increased the number of international students and began offering English-medium
medical programs, attracting students from Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Present Day – Kuban State Medical University is recognized as a major medical university in Russia, operating under the
Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and training thousands of students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and
preventive medicine. The university continues to contribute to medical research, healthcare development, and
international medical education.
