About Us

- 1932 – Initially started as Arkhangelsk State Medical Institute in Arkhangelsk with an aim to train medical professionals belonging to
  the northern regions of the Soviet Union.
- 1930s – Faculty of general medicine and public health commenced to develop healthcare in the northern region.
- 1941–1945 – Contributed the support to the nation during World War II by training doctors and medical staff for serving at military
  hospitals and civilian medical centers.
- 1950s–1960s – Expansion of facilities for uplifting learning experience - new faculties, laboratories, and clinical partnerships with
  hospitals was developed across northern Russia.
- 1970s–1980s – Focused on research in arctic medicine, epidemiology, and preventive healthcare for the needs of citizens.
- 1994 – Earned university and renamed as Northern State Medical University.
- 2000s – Launched new courses in dentistry, pharmacy, pediatrics, and postgraduate medical education.
- 2010s –Collaboration with universities and research centres of Europe and Asia
