About Us

- 1920 – Started as Faculty of Medicine - Veterinary Medicine and Zoology in Omsk to train medical professionals for the Siberian region.
- 1921 – The reorganisation of the faculty led to its merger with Omsk Medical Institute.
- 1920s–1930s – The introduction of new departments included general medicine and preventive healthcare.
- 1941–1945 – Training was provided to medical professionals to serve at military hospitals and frontline medical units during World War II.
- 1950s–1960s – Developed a modern campus by adding academic buildings, labs, and clinical centres across the city.
- 1970s–1980s – Research activities flourished in distinct medical fields namely epidemiology, surgery, and internal medicine
  positioning its image strong in the market.
- 1994 – Officially got the university title and was renamed as Omsk State Medical University.
- 2000s – Launched new faculties and postgraduate programs as well as developed partnership with medical institutions and
  research centers.
