1931 – A medical institute was established in Oryol to train healthcare professionals for the central regions of Russia.

1941–1945 – During World War II, the institute’s educational activities were disrupted, and many faculty members and students
served in military medical units and hospitals.

1950–1970 – After the war, the institute resumed full operations and expanded its academic departments, research work,
and clinical training facilities.

1980 – The institution strengthened its medical education system and developed partnerships with regional hospitals
for practical medical training.

1996 – The institute underwent major reorganization and became part of Orel State University as its Medical Institute,
expanding its academic structure and research capabilities.

2000 – Modernization of teaching methods, laboratories, and medical training programs began, along with the development
of international academic cooperation.

2010–Present – The medical institute of Orel State University continues to grow as an important center for medical education,
research, and clinical training in Russia, attracting students from various countries.
