About Us

1932: Inaugurated under the name Pskov State Pedagogical Institute with enrolment of 150 students for physics, biology, mathematics
and socio-economics.

1934: Launched Teachers’ Training Institute as well as established Faculty of Physics and Mathematics and Faculty of Natural Sciences.

1941: Due to war, the institute was relocated to Kirov.

1945: Post war, it started its operations at Pechory.

1946: Resumed to its prime location - Pskov and launched Pskov Civil Engineering Technical School.

1955: Retitled as Pskov Construction Technical School.

1957: Amalgamation of Vyborg Pedagogical Institute and Pskov institute.

1958: Merged with Machine Tool Technical School and got renamed as Pskov Industrial Technical School.

1960: Formation of Pskov State Polytechnical Institute (PSPI).

1966: Inauguration of Pskov Construction College.

1982: Received Order of the Badge of Honor.

1991: Construction College redeveloped as College of Construction and Economics.

2005: Retitled as S. M. Kirov Pskov State Pedagogical University.

2006: launched PhD programme.
